Thomas Marino, 40, was found guilty of first degree murder for shooting and beating 17 year old James Lands after claiming the youth brought disgrace to his 14 year old daughter. The jury sentenced him to life imprisonment. Marino testified he found Lands with Florence and that his wife disclosed the affair. A physician testified Florence was not harmed.

Portal Pay Action Dismissed by Federal Judge
Federal Judge Luther Swygert dismissed a $300,000 portal pay suit against Farnsworth Television and Radio Corp. The ruling bars Local 916 of the United Electrical Radio and Machine Workers from refiling the case, with prejudice. The union may appeal but cannot refile. Tumor Removed From Infant in Billings Operation
A six day old infant in Billings underwent a 50 minute operation to remove a kidney tumor formed prenatally. Dr Richard E Brogan reported the baby is doing nicely. The infant is the son of Sgt William J Butler and Mrs Butler of Billings. The tumor was described as big as a man s fist. Sgt Butler served in New Guinea during World War II and has been released from occupation duty in Germany to return home.
