Highway repairs delayed to 1964 for quake damaged Montana roads
The Montana Highway Commission told Ennis and Madison county delegates that initial repair work on earthquake damaged roads would not occur before 1964-65. Fire gutted old Franklin School injuring Meaderville volunteer

J C Common of Missoula told the Butte Exchange Club that operation of the Olympians on the Twin Cities to coast route cost about 2.5 million dollars out of pocket in 1960 and that net earnings would be depleted by a 50 cent stock dividend. He cited 1957 6.9 million 1958 8.3 million 1959 5.9 million and 1960 through November 3.0 million, with 1960 boardings rising but not offsetting losses. He warned discontinuing Milwaukee trains would shift riders to Northern Pacific and reduce service.

Explosions Strike Houston Refinery on Ship Channel
A sequence of blasts caused a large fire at the Signal Oil & Refining Co. plant on the Houston ship channel Tuesday night. At least three people were injured, and a prior year fire at the same plant had injured seven. Flames covered two storage tanks near the waterfront dock, with several more tanks nearby. Residents reported a loud blast followed by smaller ones as power failed for many nearby homes and businesses.
