Pueblo seized after boarding by North Korea patrol boats
The U S intelligence ship Pueblo was boarded by four North Korean patrol boats off the Korean coast Monday night and captured without firing a shot. Four of the 83 Americans aboard were wounded, one critically. The Pentagon confirmed the Pueblo reported casualties and was told to follow the ships toward Wonsan as only light arms were on board.

Yank forces surprise 350 Viet Cong in coastal battle
American infantrymen surprised 350 Viet Cong three miles east of Phu My and reported 128 enemy killed after an eight hour clash. U.S. losses were four dead and 19 wounded. U.S. air strikes and artillery supported the attack while Marine aircraft and ground fire pursued targets near Khe Sanh.

Alberton seven year old dies in Montana first traffic fatality
Emanuel Anderson seven of Alberton died from injuries after falling from the hood of an old car used as a sled, towed by his father James D. Anderson on a frontage road near the Alberton interchange. The death is recorded as Montana's first traffic fatality of the year.

Rt Rev Msgr James J Donovan 59 pastor of St Patrick Church Billings died on arrival at a Great Falls hospital after a seizure. Born in Ireland he served 25 years as vicar general of the eastern Montana diocese and presided over the College of Great Falls from 1940 to 1960 before moving to Billings.

Colorful rites mark bishops installation
Archbishop Luigi Raimondi presided at the installation of Bishop Eldon B. Schuster in Great Falls Cathedral of St. Ann. The 56 year old priest becomes the fourth bishop of the Eastern Montana diocese, urging stewardship over the flock and promising full attention to his shepherd’s duties. Floyd W. Bill Howell has been named director of development and information services at Montana Tech. President Edwin G Koch announced the appointment noting Tech has not had a fulltime information director before. Howell holds two BAs from the University of Montana 1961 in journalism and sociology and a master's from Washington State University. Apartment blaze injures two Missoula firemen
MISSOULA AP Fire destroyed the upper level of a two story wood frame apartment building on Tuesday injuring two firemen. Jerry Brammer of Missoula received facial and hand burns and was released Marshall Kyle got first aid at the scene then returned to fight the noon blaze. An explosion as they carried hose into the building pinned them with their backs to the front door. The owner is R D Fehr and no occupants were inside when the fire began Cause is undetermined.
