A U S Army bomber stalled in a rainstorm and crashed on Box Springs hill two miles northeast of Riverside. Six aboard, four killed. Parachutes saved two: Pvt Frank Carroll of Hyde Park Mass and Sgt Cecil Purvis of Glennville Ga. Pilot was 1st Lt Raymond W Sums of Nashwauk Minn. The crash halted at March Field base route.
