Bus and electric car crash kills 18 in Ohio

Bandits Take 108 In Raid At Soft Drink Parlor
Two masked bandits armed with pistols robbed a soft drink parlor at 729 Utah avenue at 12 45 this morning taking 108 from the till. They held Fred Stewart the bartender and five patrons at bay and fled. Officers linked descriptions to a prior hold up at a Continental Oil filling station Monday night. Bandits wore handkerchief masks and noted the bartender had a crippled hand. They left after a cryptic remark.

St Louis January 22. A gaboon viper that bit R Marlin Perkins curator of reptiles at the St Louis zoo December 31 is dead. Perkins, hospitalized since the bite, will recover. Officials say the snake died of pneumonia. Perkins, who underwent two blood transfusions, is said to be the only known survivor of a gaboon viper bite.

In a northwest gale seven ships faced peril at sea about 800 miles off the Virginia capes.
