Montana Snow Chaos After nine aboard bus collide with semi
A Greyhound bus carrying nine passengers crashed into a semi truck four miles southeast of Garrison on U.S. 10 during a blizzard. One woman, Evelyn McLaughlin of Moore, was injured and treated at Powell County Memorial Hospital. Wreckage closed the highway until about 5 p.m. Five additional accidents occurred near the scene with no serious injuries. A snow slide partially buried a truck and wrecker. motorists continued to pass the area. Cold, heavy new snow raised exposure risks and a forecast high of zero with a -25 low.

Butte Could Get 480000 In Nonpublic School Aid
State plan to provide 3 million dollars yearly for private school students would allocate about 480 thousand to Butte parochial schools if approved. Based on Montana totals of 16 411 nonpublic students, local enrollment includes 1 792 elementary and 828 high school pupils. Anaconda would receive roughly 213 thousand for 850 elementary and 324 high school students. Two bills by Rep Lawrence Stimatz would let the state loan secular textbooks and fund transportation and hire secular instructors for private schools. The proposal faces constitutional questions as major obstacles.
