Cold grips Butte as temperatures plunge to record lows

Unfathomable cold dominates Butte scene as temperatures plunge below zero since January 8. Sunday saw readings staying under minus 25 all day with a -41 at the airport from 9 to 11 am. Burglars Pry Hi Lo Lounge In 30 Below Weather

In a Sunday morning burglary at the Hi Lo Lounge 224 Cherry two intruders pried open the front door with a crowbar despite 30 below temperatures. They stole from four amusement machines an undetermined cash amount along with whisky and cigarettes. This is the second burglary in a month, with $150 liquor stolen previously.
