Butte Boy 9 Hurt in Sled Collision With Car
A nine year old boy, Joseph Kane, was seriously injured in a sled crash with a car in northwest Butte at 5 p m. He received emergency brain surgery at St James Community Hospital, where a Missoula neurosurgeon treated him. Police said the sled rider came from an alley between Washington and Idaho. the car driven by Phil Hannifin was traveling eight to ten mph and did not see the boy until impact. The boy was thrown 27 feet and the sled was crushed by a car wheel.

Eight Month Old Killed in Montana Car Crash
EKALAKA AP Ryan Kreitel eight month old son of Mr and Mrs Edward Kreitel died in a head on crash on a dirt county road eleven miles south of Ekalaka at about 9 am Monday. His parents and the other driver Emmit Jones rancher in the Ekalaka area were hospitalized with minor injuries. Both cars were traveling about 30 miles an hour. The infant's death raised Montana's 1965 traffic toll to four.
