Pop Weaver 79 Butte artist dies in Tucson
Funeral services for John Bruce Pop Weaver 79 longtime Butte art teacher and artist will be held Monday in Tucson Ariz. Weaver died Saturday in Tucson after leaving Butte in 1959 from retirement at Butte High School where he taught about 2500 students. He was born March 17 1892 in Anaconda and studied at the Chicago Art Institute. Survivors include Myrtle Dragstedt Weaver his wife and sons and daughters in law in Tucson and Edmonton and sisters in Helena.
