Daredevil Robbie Knievel Dies at 60 in Reno
Butte native Robbie Knievel died of advanced pancreatic cancer aged 60 with three daughters by his side. The self promoted entertainer known as Captain Robbie Knievel performed about 350 motorcycle jumps, second to his father Evel Knievel, and was living in Reno at death. He was born May 7, 1962 in Butte.

Richest Tailings project blends history and podcast medium
Powell County High School English IV students created an original audio history project called Richest Tailings. Guided by Sean McConnaha, the group drew on Nora Saks’s Richest Hill podcast and Michael Punke’s Fire and Brimstone to explore Butte and Deer Lodge history and culture through storytelling. The project used microphones and a sound board with grant support from the Powell County literacy board.
