John F. McCarty Dies After Long Illness in Butte

John F. McCarty 52 of 409 Kemper Avenue died early today at a local hospital after a long illness. He was a surface man at the Girl mine and had lived in Butte 42 years, coming from Denver. Surviving are son James of Missoula daughter Loretta of Spokane and several relatives. The body is at Duggan's Merrill mortuary and will be taken to the family home Sunday afternoon pending funeral arrangements.
