Photographs captured by Surveyor 7 during a historic moon visit show rocky debris around Tycho crater. The image released Thursday from Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena centers on rocks about 16 feet from the spacecraft camera.
The walkout began July 15 and has idled 7,500 Montana workers. By January 7 strikers faced about 23.976 million dollars in lost earnings while the state sees revenue losses through December. A national FMCS official from Washington, DC was expected to attend the meeting.
Melvin S. Matlock of Ogden files federal court action claiming the Aug 21 sale of a five acre parcel in Father Sheehan Memorial Park was a sham and deprived him of bidding rights. He seeks 44010 against Silver Bow County and the Anaconda Co. plus 25000 profit, 4010 travel costs and 15000 exemplary damages, plus rescission of deeds to Betty Kissock and a new sale.
Commissioners Hubert J. Johnson Earl J. Holman and Robert W. Sparks met with the county attorney on the federal suit by Melvin S. Matlock of Ogden to void the August 21 sale of land from Father Sheehan Memorial Park. The board gave no comment pending review. Betty Kissock, buyer at the sale, is a defendant with attorney John L. Peterson. Sparks chairs a nine member park commission overseeing the county share of sale proceeds for recreation.
The Interstate Commerce Commission will investigate Union Pacific Railroad plan to discontinue passenger service from Butte to Salt Lake City. Trains No 35 and 36 would be affected. the probe requires four months of continued service and a hearing date will be set later.
Montana Highway Commission reports over 11 million dollars awarded for highway structure contracts last year. State Engineer Lewis M. Chittim briefed Montana Contractors Association at Finlen Hotel on total calendar year and fiscal year totals and plans for upcoming contracts including interstate, state, primary and secondary routes.

A 43 year old woman explained to Patrolman John Abelit that she was late for work as a school bus driver after a highway patrol plane catch.
The Judith Beeman murder case was heard by Justice of the Peace Elsie Miller after a pre lim hearing. Charges were dismissed in one court and refiled in Miller's court, with bond set at $2000 posted by her parents. The 24-year-old Broadview woman faces allegations related to the death of 22 month old Michael Hatten aboard a train on Christmas Eve 1966. A written decision is expected by Tuesday.
U S Marines move the 5th Marine Regiment into a more northern sector near Da Nang as 4000 troops redeploy. South Korean marines begin moving into positions south of Da Nang to replace U S Marines. The action accompanies reports of intensified combat with Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces while air operations continue over North Vietnam.
Senators Mike Mansfield and Lee Metcalf announced a $5,000 housing and urban development planning advance for Gardiner on Thursday. The Associated Press coverage notes federal support aimed at local housing and urban planning efforts.

Two searchers reached the blizzard wreck near Mt Tobin high point of northeastern Nevada finding all bodies. A four engine Army Marine plane carrying 18 to 20 men crashed after noon and the searchers planned to stay overnight to recover more remains.
