Fugitives elude FBI after rifle incident near Columbus
In Columbus authorities, aided by Billings police, hunted two suspects who pulled a rifle on an FBI agent during a warrant arrest attempt. The man and woman fled in a car from Billings about miles east of Columbus, with a 100 mile radius search underway. The FBI officer was unharmed and no identities or warrant origins were released.

State Rancher Dies of Exhaustion After Wandering in Cold
Max Hedges, 51, an Ekalaka rancher, died from exhaustion after his pickup stuck left him wandering five miles in 16 below zero weather with 20 inches of crusted snow. He was found 40 yards from the old Baker-Ekalaka road near several ranches, after being missing since Thursday. A search by four airplanes and 50 people located his body at about 8 am Sunday.
