Gallatin county plans to settle its claim to a two mile strip along Yellowstone National Park’s western edge by a new statute after a federal dispute over tax on the disputed land. The land includes property of Yellowstone Park Transportation Co. valued over a million dollars, with about $13 000 in taxes sought. Representative Darlington says title was never relinquished. The 65 year old Rev James Francis McNamee a veteran Baptist minister from Helena was fatally injured when struck by a freight train on a Northern Pacific side track at Warm Springs. He died about 40 minutes later after being rushed to the hospital. Witnesses say he stepped in front of the train while hurrying to catch a passenger service after officiating a funeral.
