Butte man sentenced 60 years for attempted deliberate homicide
Martin Bradley Coleman, 37, was sentenced to 60 years in Montana State Prison after a 2022 incident in Butte where he fired three shots during an altercation, two in the stomach and one behind the ear. The jury convicted him of attempted deliberate homicide following three days of trial.

Sun Mountain buys R Y Timber mill in Livingston
Sun Mountain Lumber of Deer Lodge confirmed it has acquired the R Y Timber sawmill in Livingston. The deal closed Oct. 31 after the mill suffered two fires and a July 2023 lightning strike, leading to closure in mid-February with dozens of jobs cut. The plant makes studs and is now operational with one shift under Sun Mountain.
