HELENA Jan 3 47 Montane automobile owners must get license plates by Feb 15 state highway patrol supervisor C L Sheridan Friday reminded drivers and urged them to obtain plates soon to avoid last minute rushes on county treasurers offices one plate only is being furnished this year and must be placed on the rear of the car remove last year s paper slicker from the windshield and remove other plates from the car the state originally intended two plates in 1948 but steel shortages limited production the board authorized one plate under emergency powers due to law requiring two plates unless amended during wartime conditions

Missoula Montana January 9 Western Montana sugar beet growers will receive by mail the 1947 adjustment payment for beets supplied to the Missoula factory of American Crystal Sugar. The payment totals 92 19125 dollars and raises the company total for the crop to 1 78375 61 dollars the largest in Missoula sugar beet history. The first payment this year was 11 876 dollars per ton and the final rate including government payment comes to 14 86 dollars per ton for 1947. The average yield across Western Montana was 14.06 tons per acre in the Bitter Root Flathead Missoula Pre nchtown and Breadwater valleys.

Relief Ship Food to Be Loaded Monday at Havre

Registration not required to vote on extra school levy
