Spanish War Vet Held in Slaying
An 81 year old Spanish American War veteran was held after a shooting at the Montana Soldiers' Home north of Kalispell. Yancel Stibal, 55, a World War I veteran, died at Whitefish after a chest and neck wound. his wife, about 55, survived abdominal injuries. Commandant R. S. Detective Says Case Is Getting Hotter
Chicago January 8. Detective Sgt Jack Hanrahan said the kidnap murder case of six year old Suzanne Degnan is getting hotter with a solution possible within 24 hours. A janitor suspected of drinking heavily is being sought for questioning and two North Side janitors were freed or charged after a habeas hearing. Hanrahan indicated two men were involved and another suspect in a neighborhood flat is being pursued as the search intensifies.
