Dalmatian Sean Faces Life or Death Trap Decision
Four year old Sean the Dalmatian, owned by Charles and Mrs. O’Neill of Continental Drive east of Butte Country Club, dragged in a heavy toothed trap Monday. The dog returned home Wednesday with injury to his left rear leg and is at a pet hospital awaiting verdict on possible leg-saving treatment. The trap lay in an open field the owner traced from Sean’s route, and a deputy game warden has the weapon in question. Sean previously lost two toes two years ago in a trap but could get around in cold weather on three legs.

Three unidentified young women woke Mrs. Jane Leutschaft and her two toddlers at 2 am sparing them from a deadly blaze. Fire Chief N F Simon and the Big Butte Fire Department confined the fire to upstairs rooms, with one upstairs room destroyed and the roof partly damaged. The home suffered water damage downstairs as preparations for a Christmas homecoming were disrupted.
