Lelia Ma Mosher Heyl 105 longtime Bozeman resident and former MT State University housemother died Tuesday at Bozeman Convalescent Center where she had lived since 1969. Born June 17 1870 in State Center Iowa she homesteaded with her family in South Dakota and Montana before operating a boarding house in Manhattan. Her husband John Heyl died in 1932.

In Laurel New York a 56 year old father Harry Gerard and his 41 year old wife Bertha suffered burns while trying to save their 3 year old daughter Mae Helen Gerard trapped in a bedroom as fire destroyed their two story home.
