U.S. Jets Down Two More MIGs Over North Vietnam
U S Air Force Phantom jets downed two MIG 21s over the Red River Valley near Hanoi bringing total MIGs shot down in five days to nine and overall to at least 36. In the Mekong Delta Saigon troops launched a major sweep amid clashes with Viet Cong, killing 16 and capturing 13 in one battle. elsewhere a Viet Cong force overran a government outpost near Saigon, causing heavy casualties and seizing arms.
