Canal Fulton Ohio January 6 AP John Oser a 30 year old Canal Fulton dairyman was shot and killed and his wife Bertha Oser beaten to death at their farm home near here. A missing farm hand is suspected as motive remains unclear. The double slaying was discovered about 9 30 this morning when the six year old son awoke and found his father dead. Beginning today 1774 half pint bottles of milk will be distributed in Butte schools to pupils underweight 415 bottles paid by the Rotona club 1359 by children.

Helena dispatch reports Esther Thorn Carpenter widow of B Platt Carpenter former territorial governor of Montana died in Chula Vista California. The Carpenters lived in Helena after his retirement from office on July 13 1885. Carpenter died about five years ago and was buried in Poughkeepsie New York.
