John P. Kelly Funeral Rites Slated Saturday
John P. Kelly longtime Butte businessman and former newsman died Thursday in a local hospital. He will be buried at Patrick Cemetery after a 10 o'clock requiem Mass at Immaculate Conception Church. The cortege forms at Duggan's Merrill Mortuary at 9:30. Kelly an early Montana WWI veteran and former newspaper man with a long career and family ties, lived at 1221 W Aluminum. He served as sergeant major with the 11th Field Artillery and helped fire the last American shot in World War I during the Argonne Battle. He edited a newspaper after the war for John M. Kennedy.

Sheriff D J Leeper said Air Police had picked up an airman for questioning after an argument with the slain man days earlier. We are not holding anyone an Air Police captain said. We are questioning lots of people.
