Newark Women Confess to Bus Driver Slaying Holdups
Two Newark youths, Ethel Strouse Sohl and Genevieve Owens, both 17–20, confessed to a $2.10 holdup and murder of a bus driver William Barnhrost. Sohl, daughter of a patrol officer, used her father’s revolver. Owens was on probation for vagrancy. They said crimes were for fun and reenacted the incident for detectives.

Dr James E Stuart 72 longtime Livingston resident died suddenly of a heart attack at his home. He arrived in Montana as a child with his parents and was a telegraph operator for Northern Pacific, banker at Helena, and operator of the state's first electric mine hoist at Corbin. A medical graduate practicing in Livingston since 1905 he served as Park county health officer. Survived by several sisters including Mrs Samuel Barker of Butte a brother and his widow.
