Helena AP reports Gov elect Forrest H. Anderson will appoint Gordon R. Bennett 46 of Helena as chairman of the Montana Unemployment Compensation Commission. Bennett will replace Edgar H. Reeder, who has led the three member panel since March 15 1961. Reeder also serves as executive officer and naval aide in Governor Babock era. Bennett hails from Scober and has farmed with family. Bennett’s appointment becomes effective Monday when Anderson takes office.

Joseph L. Wilson doing business as Wilson Motor Co filed a district court suit Friday against Silver Bow County seeking 259 718 for damages to his building at 8 S Montana last Aug 26 when a county water truck crashed into the structure. Neil Bolton the driver is named as a county employee but not a defendant. The Wilson building was heavily damaged and several parked cars were hit. The suit includes American Hardware Mutual Insurance Co of Minneapolis as a plaintiff with Wilson and alleges the insurer has paid 49 363.87 and is entitled to recovery of that amount.
