Wise River Club kicks off New Year with live music night
Wise River Club, co owned by Tim Montana since August, hosted a New Year’s Eve music night with Kyle Rife performing an Eagles cover. A rowdy singalong erupted as lights and elk antler chandeliers framed a crowd of casual to dressed up patrons. Door staff kept spirits safe with ride home reminders as middle aged bikers and cowboys mixed.

New trial date set in Butte rape case
In Butte the trial for 24-year-old Tracer Lee Croy on a rape charge has been rescheduled to June 17 after scheduling conflicts. Nearby, two men accused in a botched bounty hunt homicide in Butte remain set for March 4, with previous delays due to counsel emergencies. Prosecutors say the 2021 home invasion left William Harris dead. Jaeger and Hubber face homicide and aggravated burglary charges.

Montana Central and Woodville Tunnel linked to Helena and Great Falls
The Montana Central Railway, led by J. J. Hill, connected Great Falls to Helena and Butte with the 68 mile Helena to Butte route. Construction began 1887 with grading in fall and track laid mid 1888. Major feats included the Wickes and Woodville tunnels, nine trestles on Rampart Mountain, and a 244.5 foot single month blasting record in January 1888.
