Airliner Crashes Into Car Injuring Four Near Salt Lake City
A Challenger DC-3 crashed into a automobile on US 40 by the Salt Lake Municipal Airport injuring four car occupants. The plane carried no passengers injured. Victims were John Bishop 31 Winifred Bishop 33 Nancy Bishop 13 months and Helen Anderson 35 all of Salt Lake City. Officials cited a sharp updraft during a snowstorm and an investigation will follow by the CAA.

Rail Conductor Slays Three Relatives and Self
A veteran Union Pacific conductor, Durwood H. Johnson, 55, shot and killed his wife, son Mer cer, 19, and father-in-law C. W. Mercer, 87, in the basement then killed himself. County Attorney Don Weaver says illness and despondency triggered the tragedy in Grand Island Nebraska. Fire truck freezes during eight mile run to fire
