The headless, handless nude body of a woman about 30 was found along the highway to Lake Arrowhead near Arrowhead Springs California. Two .38 caliber bullets pierced the heart and lung. The victim’s head and hands were hacked away, an autopsy noted, and investigators could not yet confirm rape. The body lay wrapped in a blue and white blanket in a roadside ditch near the Navy convalescent hospital.
