ANACONDA The Cedar Park Lanes was burglarized for the 17th time in two years over Friday night. Thief took cash from cigarette and soda sales, juke box, ball cleaner and two amusement machines, cash drawers with tournament money, five tubes of paste, and left a single set of footprints from the loading dock. Steel shutters were installed after the break in and the dock door lacked a shutter and was only locked by an inside catch.

$1500 Mink Pelts Stolen From Dale Koelzer Depot

Police and sheriff deputies investigated a burglary at the Pacific Hide and Fur Depot on 616 E Front. 97 mink pelts and a cutting torch were missing when the manager, Dale Koelzer, opened Saturday morning. Entry was gained by cutting a hole in a shed wall and prying a door with a wrecking bar.

Blaze destroys Helena Auto Agency and 11 cars

A New Year’s Eve fire at the Motor Mart on Last Chance Gulch in Helena destroyed about 11 cars and damaged the frame and stucco building. Helena Fire Chief Joe Munger said damage exceeded $100,000 and flames burned for nearly three hours, with the fire starting in the basement and apartments on the second floor also burned.
