The Butte Community Memorial Hospital association filed articles of incorporation aiming to establish a leading Northwest hospital in Mining City. Sam Barker Jr announced a $250,000 pledge from D. M. Kelly of Anaconda Copper Mining Co toward building and equipping the non profit institution. Trustees include Barker, Henry A. Young, George N. Short, J. S. Cohen, Kenneth Christie, Tom J. Davis, E. T. Henderson and R. J. MacDonald, with officers Barker as president and Young as vice president. The group will pursue site purchase and construction soon, aided by memorials and gifts. Hugh W. Fleming, 28, a recently discharged soldier, is jailed in Beaverhead County while Gus Constantino, 30, a Dell ranch employee, lies seriously injured in a Butte hospital after a shooting and attempted mutilation at the Wyatt ranch near Dell Saturday morning. Fleming stated he came to Dillon Christmas day after his Fort Lewis discharge to confront his wife Gertrude and Constantino. Sheriff Claude Lay and County Attorney Lew D. Brundage said the incident occurred at the Wyatt ranch and Fleming was taken into custody.
