John R. Mitchell aged 65, federal reserve agent in Minneapolis and chairman of the Ninth Federal Reserve bank board, died at his home from a heart attack. Born in Franklin, Pennsylvania, he built a Northwest banking career since 1897 and was known as an authority on agricultural affairs in the district. Surviving are his widow, a daughter, and two sons.
