A fierce brush fire swept Malibu from mountains to sea destroying an estimated 25 to 50 homes and causing one death. UP to Take Over Spokane Railroad
The Interstate Commerce Commission authorized Union Pacific to acquire control of the Spokane International Railroad, linking the U S Pacific Northwest with southwestern Canada.
