Martin L. Emigh of Salmon Idaho died after a brief illness at his son John F. Emighs home at 1117 West Broadway. Born April 29 1856 at Grants Post Office Pa he came west in 1875 to Colorado as a freighter. He was a Montana Idaho pioneer.
About 30 Scouts from Butte Dillon Anaconda and nearby areas will gather at Echo Lake this afternoon for a winter encampment lasting until noon December 30. Under supervision of Council Executive O E Hoover the event features cross country skiing outdoor training and overnight camp setup with lectures on nature study hiking tracking first aid and crafts at Echo lake lodge.
Northwest Airlines officials disclosed that the bodies of Pilot Joe Livermore of Spokane and Co pilot A. A. Haid of St. Paul were recovered from the wrecked 14 passenger transport eight days after its crash. No fire was reported and the pilots appeared to have been killed instantly.

Fresno police arrest Cora Switzer 38 also known as Thelma Williamson for investigation in the decapitation slaying of Jack Smith 40. Smith's head was found mutilated near the Southern Pacific tracks while Lindseys, Dr and Mrs P S Lindsey, are missing amid fears they may also be slain. Switzer had sought treatment for a head wound at Fresno emergency hospital, claiming an accidental axe injury at the Lindsey residence.
A weather forecast for Montana calls for unsettled conditions on Sunday and Monday with a cooler spell east of the Divide on Sunday.
