Fire in Hamilton kills two children and injures five
MISSOULA AP A pre dawn fire in Hamilton killed Janice Goss 13 and Sherry Goss 6 and seriously burned Mary Goss 51 and two other children Albert 10 and Anna 5. Ray Goss 21 and Don Goss 23 were hospitalized with injuries. Jim Weber 18 and Carl Ridenour 24 escaped. Fire started on the back porch fed by gasoline fumes from two chain saws ignited by a gas water heater pilot light. Damage to the one story frame house was about 5 000 dollars.

Billings police officer Richard LaGaly was lightly wounded in a downtown gun battle while pursuing 30 year old L C Crockett who was shot and seriously wounded by another officer as Crockett fired a pistol from his rear pocket.
