Heart attack kills pilot aboard giant jet plane
DETROIT AP The death of Boeing 727 pilot Philip L. Brooks 50 aboard a Boston to Detroit American Airlines flight was the first in the carrier’s 38 year history. Copilot Joseph Hunt asked for a doctor via intercom but none aboard and retired nurse Marie MacDonald aided Brooks in the Syracuse approach. She performed mouth to mouth resuscitation before the plane landed where Brooks died in her arms, passengers later rerouted to Detroit.

Butte Teamster Killed in One Car Road Crash Near Anaconda
Butte resident John J. Clifford 31 died in a one car crash at the junction of Highways 10A and 48 east of Anaconda. Coroner Longfellow said Clifford was thrown from the car as it crossed medians and flipped in a borrow pit. He left a wife Mrs Juanita Clifford and three children. Surviving family includes his mother in New York and a brother in San Diego. Burial planned in Livingston.
