Corpsmen Return Home From Trapper Creek Program

Four Butte youths Bruce Theren Joe Falcon Dale Marinko and Douglas King have completed training at the Trapper Creek Job Corps Center near Hamilton and are home for Christmas. The Montana center serves 16 to 21 year olds offering trades training and high school equivalency. A Trapper Creek bus will transport the corpsmen to Butte for pickup by parents.

South Side Justices Slow On Christmas Ticket Toll

Butte officials report lighter holiday caseloads with smaller fines. Paul Bat terman of Butte paid the largest fine at 75 dollars for reckless driving. George M. Pidgeon paid 30 dollars and served seven days in jail for failure to register his vehicle.

Area youths from the Butte region enroll at Idaho State University in Pocatello for the 1970 71 term led by sociology major Marsha Humphrey from Butte and dental hygiene major Teresa Jones. Mental health society formed in Montana counties

The Central Western Montana Comprehensive Mental Health Society was formed Monday in Butte by county commissioners from Silver Bow, Deer Lodge, Lewis and Clark, and Gallatin counties. Officers: Donald F. Gates chairman, Al Gaskill vice chairman, Ralph W. Armstrong treasurer, Joe A. Kissock secretary. The plan includes federal financing and hospital bed provisions in each county seat.

Hashish possession charged against Gary Hagel and wife

Gary Hagel and his wife Jean Hagel were arraigned in justice court on hashish possession charges. Both are free on 3500 bonds. County Detective Dewey Burns testified as the complaining witness. Evidence includes material seized during a 12:05 a.m. arrest eight miles south of Butte. A search warrant led to the seizure and materials were sent to a Missoula lab for analysis.

Airport lights pass tests at new Silver Bow County field

FAA approval remains in Kansas City after two weeks of tests using a DC3 instrumented airship and other large planes. The AVASI lights guide landing height while identifiers and transformers are added. Airport manager Arthur Korn says the setup is the most beautiful seen and readiness is near for full operations.
