Park County officers report a south Livingston crash between a truck and car killed a 59 year old man Joseph Gaustad and his 54 year old wife unnamed. Driver escaped injury. The fatality raises 1962 Montana deaths to 242. In Kalispell a single car crash near city limits killed 23 year old Charles Noble and left 20 year old David Young critically injured. Noble, a Bureau of Sports Fisheries and Wildlife employee, likely drove the car into a telephone pole.

Mine Worker John B. Riggs Killed in Salvage Accident
John B. Riggs, 68, a Utah native, was fatally injured at 2:30 PM on the 1700 foot level of the Anselmo Mine while removing track trails during salvage work. He was struck by falling ground and died of internal injuries. Coroner Andy Aleksich to investigate Friday.

Train Wreck Kills Several on Silver Star in Florida
The Silver Star passenger train from Miami to New York struck a tractor trailer near Okeechobee Florida killing several and injuring about 30. Fireman William Bell of Tampa and baggagemaster H O Slaughter of Wildwood were among the dead. The crash derailed most of the 13 cars and prompted a large response from authorities and the Yates Funeral Home in Fort Pierce.
