Stolen Life Savings From Butte Resident's Home
An elderly Butte resident named William Jackson reported his home at 23 West Porphyry entered between 7 PM Saturday and 1 AM Sunday. A burglary netted $6,000 in 60 hundred-dollar bills and a diamond stickpin, with the thief forcing a bedroom trunk open with scissors after attempting to pick the back-door lock. Apparent Stray Bullet Kills Tiny Shelby Girl
A four year old girl from Shelby died in a Great Falls hospital after being struck by a .22 caliber bullet while in a pickup truck. Coroner Robert Burns identified Pamela Eckstein, daughter of Virgil Eckstein, as the deceased. Her 54-year-old brother and her father were present. he had left to shop at a Shelby grocery.
