The White House said joint planning for unity of action would soon include all governments defeating the Axis. The U S and British liaison missions in London and Washington will continue as broader coordination is pursued with Russia China the Netherlands and others. Don McCaig Elected President of Silver Bow Photographic Society

Don McCaig was elected president of the Silver Bow Photographic Society at a recent meeting. Officers named include Stuart Barker as vice president Wayne Johnson as secretary and treasurer and Lyle E Downes as publicity director. Yule Mail Rush May Set Mark in Butte

Postmaster Frank X. Monaghan expects this Christmas mail rush to be the largest in Butte history as stamp cancellations surpass last year. Friday 118941 letters passed through local cancelling machines, over December 19 1940 by more than two thousand. A parcel post window and stamp counter will operate 9 to 6 today at the main post office to speed mail and reduce lines. Substations at 43 West Park, 108 East Park, and 1659 Harrison Avenue handle huge volumes, with no money order business at Fast Park Street and Harrison Avenue locations.

Firms urged to report Red Cross donations early Monday

Butte businesses are urged to file remaining Red Cross campaign entries by Monday morning to close the drive that has raised 32 269 10 for relief. As of Saturday 8 161 residents had contributed with firms’ lists incomplete. An auction of a two month old red and white cocker spaniel donated by Kemper kennels will raise more funds, with the dog to be sold at 5 pm Monday.
