Anaconda Strike Talks Continue on Wage Offer

Anaconda Mill and Smeltermen's union members studied a company package offer of 17.47 cents per hour increase on a two year contract. The Tuesday meetings at the Employes club in Butte paused for a 10 am session Wednesday. Sven Hansen said the union committee discussed the proposal and non economic issues.

Settlement talks resume on Montana copper strike

Cattle Buyer Is Traffic Victim

Frank lin B. Cardwell a 41 year old Billings cattle buyer was killed in a two car crash 16 miles west of Cascade. E J Moore 33 a Great Falls cattle buyer drove the car. MISSOULA AP Senator Ernest Gruening led a Senate Interior Committee hearing on the Paradise Dam and Knowles Dam projects valued at 429 million and 234 million dollars. Gov. Raynolds Pass Project Slated By State Board for Mid-1960

Montana forest highway program tentatively approves six projects including Raynolds Pass with Earthquake Canyon route improvements. The Montana Highway Commission said grading gravel surfacing and a Madison River crossing would start after rights of way are secured and funds become available July 1 1960. The Montana plan projects a three year timeline before opening a road through the canyon near the Madison River Canyon leading toward Idaho.
