Bandits Kill Seven on Bus North of Manila
Bandits ambushed a passenger bus 90 miles north of Manila on Friday, killing seven people and wounding 16, the Philippine News Service reported. Police say the driver crashed a roadblock as bandits fired with submachine guns. a patrol pursued the outlaws.

Dr Hugh McMillan Succumbs on Coast
Dillon notes that Dr Hugh Mac Millan longtime local physician died last Saturday in a Long Beach California hospital. He and Mrs McMillan arrived in Dillon in 1912 and were active in community life before moving to California in the early 1920s where he continued his practice. A son Dr Hugh McMillan of Colorado survives. Funeral was held Tuesday in Long Beach with burial there.
