Icy street crash injures six cars at Broadway

Man near death after fall from second floor window
Harold Bolstead 28, new arrival from Anaconda, found unconscious in the alley behind Myra apartments at 108 South Arizona. Police say he either fell or leaped from his second floor room. Taken to St James hospital with possible fatal injuries. Local landlady Mary Owens found him after hearing a disturbance. Writer Terhune injured in hit and run in New Jersey

Bank official dies by own action after bank closure
Beatrice Nebraska December 14 L Rothwell 65 president of the Crab Orchard bank closed by the state banking board hanged himself. The body was found in a small grove south of the village. Despondency over losing charge of the bank he led for 40 years presumed cause. He is survived by a widow.
