Hull Defends Canadian Trade Pact for Cattlemen

Secretary Hull urged that the Canada trade treaty will benefit U S cattlemen despite western protests. He cited tariffs on cattle over 700 pounds calves under 175 pounds and dairy cows over 700 pounds with quotas. Funeral for Mrs Rooth Held Today in Anaconda

Funeral services for Mrs Augusta Rooth of Anaconda were held at 3 pm at Duggan's Merrill mortuary chapel with Rev Everett Top and Dr E J Groeneveld officiating. Her son W L Rooth of Butte and daughter Mrs C H Kinney of Oakland arrive for the service. The body will be shipped east for cremation at Great Falls.

Jobs Placed by National Reemployment Service in Montana

Helena Dec 12 Out of 115,807 Montanans registered with the national re employment service from August 1933 to December 1935, 45,081 are unemployed. There were 139,164 placements, with 74,419 on public works projects and 18,714 in private industry. Veterans received 14,633 placements. From July to December, 5,189 relief clients were placed on non WPA jobs, with December 1933 the peak for both registrations and placements.
