Ford sticks to spending limit on tax cut plan

President Ford pressed for a spending ceiling tied to any tax cut, offering a compromise to lower the tax cut to 17 billion with a higher spending ceiling. Butte to Host 50 Million MHD Test Facility

Congress approves 1976 funding for national MHD program with 29.5 million dollars plus 7.8 million for a transition quarter. Butte’s Industrial Park will host a 50 million dollar Component Development and Integration Test Facility with 37.344 million dollars earmarked for it. Construction begins April with a January 1978 target completion. Sen. Mike Mansfield says ERDA funds will start construction and broaden nationwide MHD research and development efforts.

Kidnapped Detroit banker found dead in Ohio woods

The body of James J. Crawford, kidnapped from Detroit, was found along an isolated Licking County road northeast of Newark. He had been stabbed about 23 times and died after a struggle. Three suspects, including Sharon Scheurell, 24, were arrested. autopsy to determine time of death.

Missoula bars face gambling license revocations and suspensions
