Dragonfly Native Artist Dies at 68 in Browning Montana
Native artist Dragonfly, a Blackfeet and Sinaiiboine member born in Kalispell, died in October at age 68. A prolific storyteller and artist, he studied at the University of Montana and the Institute of American Indian Arts, later aiding at the Museum of the Plains Indian and helping launch the Demonstrating Artists program with Earnest Marceau.

Weather challenges hunters face in southwest Montana general season
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks biologists report mixed hunter harvests across southwestern Montana during the general deer and elk season from Oct 26 to Dec 1. Mild weather at lower elevations hindered game finding. 6,966 hunters met at 7 check stations and harvested 48 white tailed deer, 168 mule deer, and 406 elk with Alder station logging 812 hunters and a final weekend harvest rate of 21 percent, up from 9.7 percent opening weekend.

Groups sue BLM over Clark Fork Face logging
A coalition of environmental nonprofits filed suit in Missoula to halt the Clark Fork Face Project on 16,689 acres in the Garnet Mountains north of I-90.
