Miner Dead in Robena 3 Mine Tragedy

Rescuers recovered the body of Hurley C. Stalmaker 50 a mine motorman among 37 miners trapped by an explosion at U S Steel s Robena No 3 coal mine near Adah Pennsylvania The body was found about 4000 feet from the working face as rescue teams faced ventilation problems and hopes lingered for the other 36 miners believed trapped.
