Joseph E. Bell 62 Dies of Heart Attack
Joseph E. Bell a civil engineer with the Montana Power company for 30 years died at his home in Helena from a heart attack near noon Thursday. Born September 3 1882 at Wakefield Virginia he earned an engineering degree with high honors in 1905. He helped start on the Fort Shaw Sun river project and later held key roles in Mystic lake Morong dam Black Eagle Kerr Development and other state projects. He was regarded as an outstanding engineer and was widely sought for advice. (Continued on Page 2 Col 6)

Montana becomes the first state to meet its $10,000,000 E bond quota in the Sixth War Loan campaign, exceeding the target by about $45,000 with more bonds expected.
