Eddie Sage Dies After Auto Hits Street Car

James Edward Lage age 26 of 822 West Broadway died two hours after his Buick sedan crashed into an eastbound street car on West Park street about 6:30 yesterday morning. Motorman James Nixon said he slowed the street car as Sage’s car approached. the car was stopped when impact occurred. Sage suffered severe injuries and died at St. James hospital about 8:30. Sage, a Central high graduate and Montana State attendee, was en route to take his sister to church.

A 16 year old youth killed a man during a south side Chicago bootleg feud after Leroy Gilbert, South Chicago Heights police chief, was killed last night. Federal state and local authorities vow a thorough cleaning process as the liquor feud intensifies at the transfer station on Chicago's underground liquor route.

Paul Noble Dies Sudden in Hotel Room

Paul Noble, 40, former theater manager in Butte and Portland, collapsed dead in his hotel room while talking with his wife. Coroner ruled heart failure after a quick examination. he had suffered a cold and earlier complained of a headache. Body sent to Duggan funeral parlors. coroner arrived at the scene.

Opposition 10 Aellogg Pact May Show Up

Washington December 1 The possibility of attaching a reaffirmation of the Monroe Doctrine to the Kellogg anti war pact was raised as Secretary Kellogg testified before the Senate for international relations committee. Senators showed interest in how the pact could affect Latin America policy while Borah signaled early favorable action on ratification. Kellogg and Coolidge both support ratification of the pact already signed by 60 of 64 major nations.

International ring uncovered in church thefts

Police recovered stolen church goods worth over half a million dollars in San Francisco. A man calling himself Joseph Sauer of Los Angeles was arrested as the head of an international church theft ring. The haul included gold chalices, vestments, altar cloths, carpets, gold candelabra, and jewels tied to robberies of more than 100 Catholic churches across the United States and Mexico. Sauer confessed after officers linked the scheme to antique dealers who were told the items were legitimately offered by the Mexican government.

Claims totaling 121 277 76 against the North Bute company were heard in the Butte district federal court over two receiverships. The suits involve Hardy and the Central Trust company with claims for services and costs while Minnesota and Montana courts also hold matters. Community meeting weighs state highway and education needs

Trunks Of Narcotics Seized In New York

Federal agents seized two trunks of narcotics valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars from a mid town hotel after a raid on offices tied to Arnold Rothstein. U.S. Attorney Tuttle said the drugs could fetch about 2 million dollars at retail. The raid followed a search of Rothstein offices on a warrant from U S Commissioner Cotter, with agents noting leads of a large drug shipment planned for today.

Shotgun kills trio at Crawford infirmary in Arkansas

In Van Buren Arkansas Clifford Deffenbaugh supervisor of the Crawford county infirmary his wife and inmate Jim Nicholason were shot to death in the infirmary living room by an unidentified assailant. A man known as Bill Howell discharged from the hospital two days earlier is being sought after the Friday night attack that left two Deffenbaugh children unharmed. Howell had been at the infirmary for medical treatment and was reported to the county judge. A posse hunted the suspect tonight.

Bride Shot After Quarrel Ends in Tragic Fort Worth Death

In Fort Worth Texas Ruth Landis Owens 17 described as a wealthy youth's bride died from a pistol shot in a car. Her husband Tom B Owens Jr was found wounded with a bullet near his head. An inquest returned a verdict that Owens shot his bride amid a quarrel.

Youth Arrested After Sudden Demise Of Woman

John Regan, 22, of 2108 Fir Street, is held at the county jail on an open charge awaiting an Inquest into the death of Mrs. Jeff Salisbury, 49, of 624% Placer Street. Mrs. Salisbury died at St. James Hospital after a relapse. Regan was arrested by sheriff's deputies following information from witness Lester Brown, then released and re-arrested after the death notice.
