In Elisabethville 11 U N force members are reported missing after clashes with Katangese gendarmes in Elisabethville. The missing include seven Swedes, two Norwegians, one Italian Red Cross doctor and one Argentine airman as sporadic shooting continues and UN personnel are moved to a secure compound.
Mrs. Zetta Gilbert Gosman 69 wife of former Montana Lt. Gov. George M. Gosman died suddenly Sunday morning at the family home in Dillon. Funeral services Wednesday at 2 from St. James Episcopal Church with Rev. John Hay officiating. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery. She was born Nov 12 1892 on the family Beaverhead ranch and married George Gosman May 19 1921 in Butte. She was active in St. James Church and several local organizations. Surviving are her husband, a son in law and daughter and two grandchildren, plus sisters in law and a brother in law.
An 18 year old Havre resident, Leslie Holsapple, was killed when his car skidded on an icy Beaver Creek road curve and collided with an oncoming cattle truck driven by Raymond Champaign. Four passengers were hospitalized with injuries.
In Santo Domingo Maj. Gen. Pedro Echavarria appears to have quelled a mutinous air force bid after 13 officers resigned. The Balaguer government disclosed the president is hospitalized with a minor liver ailment and expected to return to work soon.
Sen. Strom Thurmond claimed the State Department prepared a paper to turn over nuclear weapons to the United Nations. The department gave no comment as Thurmond urged a cleanup of the department and criticized Sen. Fulbright’s memorandum on military affairs. He referenced Moscow orders to suppress anti Communist training and urged disclosure to the public.

Two stolen vehicles were found burning late Saturday night on the outskirts of Butte. One car owned by William Castle, 208 S. Washington, was pushed off a road and set on fire on Corra Terrace in Walkerville. two youths were seen fleeing. The second car, belonging to Joe Rajacich of 29 W. LaPatte, was found ablaze on Bowns Gulch road and had been stripped.
James Manula eight son of Mr and Mrs Walter Manula of Melrose was treated at Barrett Hospital for a chest gunshot wound believed self inflicted with a .22 rifle while playing with neighbor children near Melrose Saturday. Condition reported good.
