The Auxiliary for the Rehabilitation of Crippled Children held its annual meeting at the Y last night and presented its yearly report to civic and fraternal representatives. The advisory board was re-elected and officers will be chosen on the third Monday in December. Secretary Ernest Sylvester reported expenditures of 40032.57 for salaries, patient care, orthopedic appliances, and related medical costs.
A crowd of over 1,800 filled the Silver Bow county playhouse for the Joshers annual Christmas show. The event raised more than 1900 for charity, with proceeds supporting Christmas baskets for the city’s needy. The Wilbur Cushman revue closed a two and half hour program to thunderous applause.
Montana collects 30 premiums including two firsts at the International Grain and Hay show, bringing its total to 89 awards. Winnings span oats hay hard red spring wheat white spring wheat and Durum wheat, with Montana leading in Durum and other classes while losing hard red spring and white spring wheat championships to Canada and Australia. Otto Thompson, 38, once an engineer at Glacier National Park hotel, is reported to have shot himself in a Seattle hotel amid a personal crisis from estrangement with his wife Margaret. He was found unconscious and is believed to be dying.
National Parks Airways ordered two Boeing 10 B 4 type biplanes for mail and passenger service at an estimated cost of 48000 dollars. Each plane carries four passengers and 1609 pounds of mail with pilot, and one craft is due for delivery at week’s end.
