Jefferson River project to add cold water, save habitat
The Jefferson River, called the forgotten fork, faces alarmingly low summer flows downstream of irrigation diversions. Fisheries biologist Ron Spoon notes it is among Montana's most dewatered rivers. The plan adds cold water from two spring creeks to protect spawning habitat.
